Host a JobCamp

JobCamp is reaching out across the country! We want to help help you host a JobCamp in your city by providing you with the information and tools that made JobCamp a success in Milwaukee.

JobCamp is providing you with:

  • A complete, end-to-end guide detailing how we organized Milwaukee JobCamp including information on marketing, logistics, speakers, volunteers, the camp guide and sponsorships.

  • Materials to hand out to attendees (How-To sheets on resumes, interviews, etc) as well as materials to assist in planning and promotion.

  • Connections to potential speakers and sponsors.

  • Ongoing discussions with JobCamp organizers to answer questions and provide advice.


JobCamp Mission:

JobCamp is a FREE, volunteer-driven event that builds job seeking and career management skills. It is an interactive and participatory experience that promotes learning, networking and collaboration.


JobCamp Principles:

  • JobCamp is 100% free for campers. JobCamp is about helping others in your community with the support of sponsorships and donations. Just as JobCampUSA gives away the knowledge and materials for creating a JobCamp, we require that you make that event free for attendees (many of whom are coping with the financial challenges of unemployment).

  • JobCamp is volunteer-driven and not for profit. JobCamps are organized out of a sincere desire to help. A volunteer model brings out the best in the community and organizers will be overwhelmed with the willingness of individuals and groups to get involved in the effort.

  • JobCamp is NOT a job fair. Job fairs are impersonal events that leave job seekers frustrated and unprepared for finding employment. JobCamp creates connections between campers and potential employers while teaching critical skills and fostering knowledge sharing. Events can include social media training, small group discussions, networking, resume reviews, practice interviews, speakers, elevator pitch coaching and many other ideas.
